Late Summer - Theatre Horizon's Shakespeare in the Park
Shakespeare is coming to the park this July and local theatre lovers are welcome to bring
picnic blankets and beach chairs as live actors present the Bard’s summertime comedy, a love story of dueling wits and
daring betrayal.
Director Erin Frederick who has previously worked with the Walnut Street Theater and the Pennsylvania
Renaissance Faire directs the local-area ensemble in this classic comedy by one of the most recognized playwrights in
history.
As You Like It follows the merry adventures of Rosalind, a beloved optimist, and her quest for true love amid the
schemes of two warring brothers. Theatre Horizon’s artistic director, Erin Reilly says she is “looking forward to bringing
this classic play to life in the outdoors, an atmosphere similar to the Globe Theater used during the time of Shakespeare
himself. There is nothing more sublime than rolling out a picnic blanket on the grass and listening to Shakespeare’s
poetry.”
