Remembering a Family Friend – Mrs. Strawbridge
“My family went to church with Margaret at the Church of the Messiah in Gwynedd PA in the 1950’s and 60’s. She always wore a lovely hat. When someone inquired why she did this, she said “I think the Lord wants us to look our best”. She was a great support and friend to all of us and we miss her. She attended my wedding in 1972 at the Gwynedd Friends Meeting, and the beginning of the service was silent, until she chose to say the Lord’s Prayer in her lovely and distinctive voice which I will not forget.”
The pastel portrait of Mrs. Strawbridge, in her lovely hat, is by Mary Cotheal Burgess and was made in 1984.
